Student Success Statement
Jenna Huff wins the
extreme “Sportsmanship” award from the U.S. Olympic Committee.
In this story Jenna Huff is a high school student
that runs in her cross country team and she was able to run for her team in the
race to the state champion. As Jenna was running she said that she always kept an
eye out for her opponent Deb. Jenna was always just a little behind Deb, there
was on three miles and when it was the last mile Jenna was thinking of just
sprinting the last mile so she could lead her team to the state nationals. When
Jenna was running she was looking at her opponent deb and saw her fall in front
of her in the last 100 yards and when she did Jenna was right there to help her
get up from her fall. When she did Jenna walked Deb to the finish line and let
her finish first because Jenna said that Deb was always going to be in front of
her even without the hip fall.
Reflection: what Jenna did there was a really good
act of "Good Sportsmanship". Jenna new that if she did not help Deb get up from
the floor she would just be one sour looser and she would not feel god with
herself. Jenna chose the Right
