Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement

“Start with what is right rather than what is acceptable.”

-Peter F. Drucker

Reflection: I think this quote means to what you know you can do rather than do what you want to do. Like on a project you want to put the best work in the project so you could get the best results rather than do a project with the work that you know should be in there.

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘press on’ has solved and always will solve the problem of the human race.”

-Calvin Coolidge, 30 president of the United States

Reflection: I think his quote means a lot of the time you have to persist in order to do what is right in the world.

“To see what is right and not to do it is want of courage.”

-Confucius

Reflection: I think this quote means if you see something right and you don’t do it is shown as a sigh of embarrassment and you don’t have the proud in you.

Testing—taking

Part 1

Essential test-taking advice

Try out these strategies while you’re still in high school, and by the time you get to college, you'll be a test-taking expert.

Before the test eat well.

Studies show that you need good nutrition to concentrate and perform your best.

Bring the right supplies

Bring your pencils, erasers, pen, rulers, compasses, calculators or whatever else you need on the test day.

Review the whole test before you start.

See how many sections and what type of questions are on the test. Determine how much time to allow for completing each section.

“I think it better to do right, even if we suffer in so doing, than to incur the reproach of our consciences and prosperity.”

-Robert E. Lee

Reflection: I think this quote means that it would be better to do what is right than to do what is wrong because you can suffer more consequences when you are wrong than right.

“Tell me what is right and I will fight for it.”

-Woodrow Wilson

Reflection: I think this quote is so true in every way because that is what people want to do and they want to do it for the rest of their lives and if they can’t then they won’t.

Student Success Statement

“You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right.”

-Rosa Parks

Reflection: I think this quote means that if you know something is right don’t be afraid to say that it is right when you need to. Never give up the dream that you know is right and will be right. For example, you could help and elder walk across the street, to make sure that you are safe.

“If it is not right, do not do it; if it is not true, do not say it.”

Marcus Aurelius

Roman emperor from 161 AD to 180 AD

Reflection: I think this quote means that what you do must be true because if it not just don’t say that you do. That is why when you do something wrong you say that you did something wrong when you did something right just say that you did something right or they will know that you did something right.

“What’s right isn’t always popular. What is popular isn’t always right.”

Howard Cosell

Reflection: what I think this quote means is that when you see people laughing and joking and having a good time is not always the best time to laugh and joke. But you must always remember to do what is right and just believe that you could make something to laugh and joke about.

“The time is always right to do what is right.”

Martin Luther king, Jr.

Reflection: This quote means if you want to do something good you should do it because there is always time to do something good. Whether someone tell you not to do it because it is a waste of time you don’t listen to them and you do it’s you feel good. For example when you are crossing the street and you see an elder walking the opposite way you should help him/her cross so they don’t get run over.

“I shall pass through this life but once. Any good therefor that I can do, or any kindness I can show, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall never pass this way again.”

-Etienne de Grellet

Reflection: This quote means that if you want someone to do something for you let them do it right then and their because if you don’t they might never offer it again. Never say that no one has ever offered you something because I can just come back and fire at you once more than you have ever seen before.

Effective Study Methods Part 3

Effective study methods

Part 3

How I deal with multiple projects/test: when I have more than one test and project, I break up my studying. I will study for one test for 30 minutes or so then switch to the other one. If there is some part of a project that I know will not take me very long, I will do it when I don’t have much time. If I am really in a crunch for time on a specific day, I will study for one test in the morning and the other in the afternoon or at night. By breaking up the studying into different sections, I feel like I get much more done. Cram sessions do not work for me. I need to study something for a shorter period of time more often for it to sink in.
